Right now, we are evaluating the installation schedule. Soon we should be able to reach out to coordinate a date range for your installation. We will be able to confirm an exact date closer to the installation, weather permitting. This step in the process can take up to one month if there are no unusual delays.

811 requests with the utility:

You can expect somebody from the utility to come and mark your gas and water lines. Ipsun Solar makes the request with the utility for you. We do ask you to be aware a person can come on your property.

We do ask you to mark and let our personnel know if you have water sprinklers or electrical wires buried where we'll work. Our electrical installer will install grounding rods on the day of the installation. Make sure you tell us if you have things buried in the ground we should be aware of.

At this point, we have reached out to you to confirm your tentative install date. Please let us know if you need to make any changes to the date or time. Additionally, you should have received an email letting you know what to expect on install day. If you have questions, please reach out to your project manager.

Here's a brief overview of what to expect on install day:

- Crew arrival window is between 8 am - 10 am. Someone needs to be at home, inside access for the crew will be required, and you should prepare for a full day of noise. Battery installations require periods of power outages.

- It is possible that we'll need to park in your driveway to unload the equipment. If so, we'll let you know and you can move your car out to the street so that we don't block you in.

- It's also a good idea not to have any vehicles parked in an area where if someone were to drop something from the roof it would damage the car. The crew leader will let you know what the danger zone is.

- Please be aware that a solar installation is noisy. There will be crew members on your roof and in your attic, using power tools. Please plan accordingly.

- The electrician will start at the electrical panel inside the house. The roof crew will need access to the attic, for some projects, for about two hours later in the day.

- The equipment will include ladders that can reach your roof height, the solar panels, combiner box, wiring and necessary conduit, and other materials for your project.

- We will unload all equipment and properly install the ladders for safety. If it is a multi-day installation, we will consult with you about the best placement of the equipment so that it stays dry and secure.

- The crew will wear protective foot covers so they don't track in dirt and germs.

- When the installation is done, our crew protocol includes a thorough clean-up of all areas inside and out.

- Your system will be operational, but not activated, at the end of the installation. Next comes inspection!

30% Federal Tax Credit: This is the Federal Investment Tax Credit recently extended by the Inflation Reduction Act. To claim your credit, all you'll need is your invoice and the IRS Form 5695. Net metering: This is the dollar-for-dollar credit (totally separate from SRECs) that your utility company will give you on your bill if you produce more solar energy than you use in any given month. Your utility company has installed a net meter on your home, so you are already set up for net metering. No action is required on your part. You'll see the credits reflected on your utility bill when you earn them.
